After having made breaks in her past two pari-mutuel starts, Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner Princesspartypants was in to qualify during the Tuesday morning (Oct. 13) session at Woodbine Mohawk Park, which saw a total of eight races face the starter.
Princesspartypants took to the track for Race 5 and lined up in Post 2 with her trainer/driver Roger Mayotte at the helm. After overnight rains, the track was rated 'good' and a two-second allowance was applied by the presiding AGCO judges.
Princesspartypants, who is a three-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass, raced conservatively in the opening frame, as she was third past the :30.2 quarter pole. Mayotte made a move for the lead in the second quarter, and the duo made the top before the half-mile indicator, which they passed in 1:00.3.
The duo maintained their open-length lead along the turn and clicked off three quarters in 1:29.4.
Mayotte and Princesspartypants cruised the rest of the way home, as they employed a :29.4 final frame and extended their lead along the way. Princesspartypants won by six and three-quarter lengths and trotted under the wire in 1:59.3.
Princesspartypants is owned by the Just In Time Stable, R A W Equine Inc., and Big Als Stables Inc.
(Princesspartypants' qualifier starts at roughly the 47-minute mark.)
