Big Red To Hit The Big Screen

The story of the Triple Crown winner Secretariat, arguably one of the greatest horses of all-time, will be making its way to the big screen

.

Filming has already commenced in Kentucky on the motion picture, which will feature a pair of high profile Hollywood stars. Diane Lane will play the role of Secretariat’s owner, Penny Chenery, and John Malkovich cast as Big Red’s trainer, Lucien Laurin.

"It's a helluva story and I'm glad it's being told," said William Nack, a consultant for the film and the retired Sports Illustrated writer who wrote Secretariat: The Making of a Champion. “He's the best horse I've ever seen - and not just close, but by lengths."

Several horses have been casted to play Secretariat in the movie.
