Trainer Rob Harmon notched the 4,000th win of his successful career on Friday, Oct. 10 to become just the ninth trainer in harness racing history to surpass that plateau.

Harmon's milestone victory came at Vernon Downs courtesy Navagio N, guided by Chris Long in the third race for one of the driver's four wins on the Friday night card. The duo connected again later with Quarrel in Race 10.

A Michigan native, Harmon started his career in the Wolverine State. He was thrice named Trainer of the Year in Michigan, winning track training titles at the former Hazel Park and Jackson Harness Raceways as well as across the border at Windsor Raceway in Canada. He started to concentrate more on racing on the U.S. east coast at the end of the 2000s and has won multiple training titles at Tioga Downs.

Now residing in Milford, Pa., Harmon's career totals now stand at 4,001 wins with more than $32 million in purses.
