It has been reported that the Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium has submitted a proposal to purchase the track, clubhouse and backstretch of the Fort Erie Race Track.

According to an article by niagarathisweek.com, FELRC’s offer does not involve any other part of the 200-acre property that has been put up for sale by Nordic and is being shopped by DTZ Barnicke.

“What I can confirm, is that we (the FELRC) have submitted a proposal to Nordic for the purchase of the track,” FELRC CEO Jim Thibert was quoted as saying in the report. “But, we have defined ‘the track’ as essentially only the portions of the property that are vital to the racetrack business.”

Thibert added, “The FELRC has the proposal drawn up and the resolution has gone to the board, but I can’t get any further into the details right now.”
