It has been reported that a bill which would allow a horse racing lottery product to become legalized in the State of Kentucky was filed on Thursday, January 8.
A report by Gregory Hall in The Courier-Journal states that Senate Bill 74 calls for the alteration of existing state lottery laws to allow a ‘shared lottery game.’
The article states that Bill 74 would allow a percentage of a ticket price to be directed into a pari-mutuel horse wagering pool. The bill would change the current law to allow wagers to be taken by the lottery for the shared game.
The reports states that Bill 74 would allow a horse wagering betting product like EquiLottery to become legal in the state.
“We are thrilled by this opportunity to bring EquiLottery to Kentucky,” said EquiLottery President & CEO Brad Cummings. “Considering the cultural importance and popularity of horse racing in the Bluegrass, Kentucky is an ideal state for this new exciting take on the lottery experience.”
