Spanish Dream launched a huge uncovered move that carried her to victory in Wednesday’s Opening Day feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,300 filly & mare conditioned pace.
Spanish Dream was fifth past the half when Jim Pantaleano sent her after the leader, Sweet Young Thing. The eight-year-old daughter of Dream Away-Latin Liftoff relentlessly wore down Sweet Young Thing and defeated her by a half-length in 1:55. All Day Sunshine finished third.
Andy Rickert trains Spanish Dream, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $338,786, for Nichole Stahl.
Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone each enjoyed a double on the 10-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 10-race program features a $609.57 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race four). First post is 12:45 p.m.
