“I am going to try and do this again in the New Year even if it means being on the road so much and living out of my truck for another year
."
Dan Noble topped the Northfield Park 2011 leading drivers by authoritative numbers, winning 436 races over the Flying Turns. His nearest competitor, Ryan Stahl, drove 283 winners. Kurt Sugg (252), Wyatt Irvine (223) and Aaron Merriman (196) completed the top five.
Winning Northfield’s dash title was not Noble’s only accomplishment. He also claimed the leading driver titles at Scioto Downs, The Red Mile and Lebanon’s spring meet. He also won races at 25 different Buckeye fairs this summer, including his topping of the Grand Circuit-calibre harness racing meet during Little Brown Jug week at the Delaware Ohio County Fair.
Noble’s success made him the winningest driver in North America for 2011. He scored 773 victories, finishing in front of George Brennan who had 754 wins. Tim Tetrick (746), Dave Palone (698) and George Napolitano Jr. (540) followed.
Noble’s busy 2011 season included a lot of traveling, but he says he had the time of his life and is attempting to earn this top honor again in 2012: “It was a long year to pursue this title, and I'm really glad I did it,” Noble commented. "I am ready to go again for 2012."
