An article by the Ottawa Citizen explains that Gaetan and Jo-Ann Champagne were heading to Rideau Carleton Raceway to celebrate New Year's when they decided to pull over and check their Lotto Max ticket.
It must have been a little bit hard to drive after they realized they had just won $50 million.
The report explains that the couple had just sold their business two months ago. The job had kept them working seven days a week for the last 12 years.
