Artists Dynasty and Mylittlerebel had no problem finding the winner's circle for the duo of trainer Murray Brethour and driver Randy Waples in their respective $20,000 divisions of the Miss Vera Bars Pacing Series, which got underway earlier this evening at a snowy Woodbine Racetrack
.
Artists Dynasty, who was hammered down to be the 1-5 favourite in the opening tilt, was in total control from start to finish. She strolled through splits of :29.3, 1:00.3 and 1:29.1 before turning on the jets in the lane en route to a 1:57.3 score over Life On The Links and Real Heart.
The three-year-old daughter of Real Artist, who disappointed as the favourite in the final of the Blizzard Pacing Series on January 15, redeemed herself for Brethour and partners Donald Varcoe and Noblock Racing Stable.
It was the filly’s second victory of the season and her third win in just nine lifetime starts. She has banked close to $37,000 to date.
Mylittlerebel employed identical tactics in the second division to win in 1:56.4 as the 9-5 favourite for Brethour and Waples. The three-year-old Camluck miss cruised through panels of :28.2, :59 and 1:28.1 before kicking home in :28.3 to seal the deal over Chief Karen and CC Dreamer.
Bred by Stephen Scarff, who co-owns the pacer with Turnkey Stables of Hamilton, ON, Mylittlerebel notched her first win of the season and the third of her career. The $10,000 payday bumped her lifetime bankroll to $26,540.
