Tired of being the bridesmaid, Tremor Hanover took matters into her own hands Monday at The Meadows when she powered to the lead and fashioned a game victory in the slop in the $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace.
Tremor Hanover had finished second in 11 of her last 32 starts — including five of the last six — primarily with pocket trips. On Monday, Brian Zendt sent her to the front, where the seven-year-old daughter of Allamerican Native-Terrie Letsgo turned back the first-over bid of Ole Miss and the Lightning Lane challenge of Red Star Hottie. She scored in 1:54, a neck better than Red Star Hottie, while Ole Miss saved show.
Aaron Johnston trains Tremor Hanover, who now boasts $373,921 in career earnings, for Charles Moses and Shawn Johnston.
Dan Rawlings drove three winners on the 16-race card.
