Trainer Marketing Support In IE

A national horse racing organization has announced that it is introducing a Trainer Marketing Support Scheme that will help licenced trainers recruit new owners this racing season.

According to an article by The Nenagh Guardian, Horse Racing Ireland has announced that it will grant up to €1,000 per trainer under the recently-formed marketing support scheme.

The grant will be paid on a pre-approval and reimbursement basis. The funds are being made available for particular promotional purposes, some of those being the creation of a website or social media initiatives; the production of advertisements, flyers or other promotional materials; covering the costs of an ‘open’ day; or the ‘upskilling’ of trainers and/or staff in particular marketing areas.

“2016 saw a welcome increase in the number of new owner registrations, active owners and horses in training in Ireland, and it is hoped that the new Trainers Marketing Support Scheme will assist in maintaining this positive trend in 2017,” Horse Racing Ireland Director of Racing Jason Morris was quoted as saying.

“It remains a challenging environment with many trainers around the country struggling to attract owners, and against this background HRI is keen to help both by providing financial backing and by assisting trainers to promote themselves and the thrill of racehorse ownership to a wider audience.”
