Farmer Jones and driver Kevin Wallis made their way to the winner’s circle after taking the $16,000 featured trot at the Isle Pompano Park in 1:55.2 on Monday.
Karpathos (Wally Hennessey) battled head-and-head with Battleshoe Victor (Anthony Napolitano) before taking over the lead at the quarter in :27.4.
As the field passed the half in :57.3, Richard Simard, sitting fourth, pulled first-over with Hellava Hush, taking the lead at the three-quarters in 1:26.1, with Ginger Tree Jimmy and Joe Pavia pulling three-wide.
Down the stretch, it was Hellava Hush and Ginger Tree Jimmy noses apart, but Farmer Jones and Wallis burst onto the scene and split the two to win by a neck in 1:55.2.
It was the first win of the year for the seven-year-old Credit Winner gelding, who has earnings over $275,000 for owners Richard Moreau and Sylvain Descheneaux, both of Canada.
Farmer Jones is trained by Stephane Bardier for the Richard Moreau Stable.
