Monday's 11-race card at The Raceway at the Western Fair District featured a $8,300 Preferred 3 Pace and an appropriately-named winner.

Before the race, driver Lorne House stated that he'd never sat behind Bestofthebunch before but that the pacer "has talent and a great post so he will get a chance to live up to the favourite status." House placed the pacer on the front end from the rail and never looked back en route to the wire-to-wire 1:57.3 score. Intrigued Intended (Nick Steward) wasn't able to capitalize on a pocket trip and finished a length and three quarters in arrears with Monster In Law (Paul MacKenzie) completing a 1-2-3 triactor.

Boris Laus of South Woodslee, Ont. owns Bestofthebunch (Artistic Fella-Terinas Best) a five-year-old pacing gelding trained by Tim Myers. The win was the 16th lifetime, helping lift the pacer's career earnings to more than $121,000.
