Nello Guglielmi will represent Canada in the Intercontinental Amateur Cup at Paris-Vincennes in France during Prix d'Amérique weekend this Saturday, Jan. 25.

Guglielmi will be competing against 13 other amateur drivers from around the world in the Intercontinental Amateur Cup, which is scheduled as the first race on Saturday. He will start from post position 13 in the 2,100 metre race, driving Ideal Fleuri, a seven-year-old trotter trained by Benoît Robin. Canadian harness racing fans can watch the race live on HPIBet (English) or letrot.com (French) at 7:23 a.m. (EST).

The Melancthon, Ont. horseman experienced his first international amateur event last summer as Canada's representative at the 2024 World Championship for Amateur Drivers in Finland. A winner during that competition in a race at Teivo Racetrack, he has also recorded 45 driving victories on Canadian soil.

Guglielmi arrived in Paris on Thursday morning accompanied by his wife Lisa and friends. In addition to competing in the Intercontinental Amateur Cup on Saturday, Guglielmi will visit the Domaine de Grosbois training centre and trotting museum on Friday and has been invited to attend the prestigious Prix d'Amérique on Sunday.

Standardbred Canada would like to wish Nello Guglielmi the best of luck competing in the Intercontinental Amateur Cup.
