Downers Delight saved ground along the pylons and surged home to win the $34,722 Open Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday, Jan. 22.

The 4-5 favourite Dale Yeah (Tony Morgan) utilized his quick early speed and sprinted to the front, leading to the quarter in :26.2. A field of the best aged pacers on the grounds allowed Dale Yeah to relax on the lead, and he completed the half in :55.1 with Primo Maschio (Corey Callahan) in the pocket and Downers Delight (Pat Berry) third on the pylons.

Renaissance Deo (Tim Tetrick), searching for his third straight win while stepping up in company, moved first-over at the five-eighths marker to advance towards Dale Yeah, who accelerated to three-quarters in 1:22.1. The bid by the parked-out Renaissance Deo wilted past the third station, which allowed Downers Delight the opportunity to find clearance. The eight-year-old then thundered home to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:50. Dale Yeah and Primo Maschio finished in a dead for place.

The win came a week after Downers Delight lost all hope of victory due to interference. The son of Bettors Delight-Astrmowin won for the 25th time in 114 starts. He is owned by TLB Racing LLC and trained by Traci Berry. The gelding paid $7.20 for the win

Armed Bandit ($3.20) then gave Team Berry another win to celebrate as he extended his winning streak to eight in the high-level claiming pace with a purse of $25,694. Pat Berry had him on top at each station in :26.4, :56, and 1:23.1 before the seven-year-old son of Heston Blue Chip-Bandolera Hanover rocketed home to win by 4-1/2 lengths in 1:51. Kimble A (Tim Tetrick) was second, followed by Sir Charles Of Sky (Troy Beyer). Armed Bandit kicked off his current spell of success upon returning to the Traci Berry barn and Dover Downs after his Sept. 25 start. The gelding, owned by TLB Racing LLC, is now 19-for-75 lifetime.

Tim Tetrick and trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. featured on the 14-race card as the pair combined for a triple and Tetrick added two more scores for five on the evening. They teamed up to win with Alabamajamma ($3.40), Wehadababyetzaboy ($2.80) and Iwannabewithyou ($3), bringing Crissman's numbers to 13 victories in 57 starts so far this season.

Tetrick hooked up with trainer Scott DiDomenico for another two tallies, winning with Captain Skippy ($3) and Jacks Shadow N ($8.20). The Hall of Fame reinsman is off to a hot start in 2026 with 33 victories in 103 starts for a win rate of 32 per cent.

There is a Superfecta carryover worth $1,960 to the next card at Dover on Monday.
