Table games for Delaware's two standardbred racetracks, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway, are halfway home to state approval
.
The Delaware house, with little discussion, passed the measure yesterday, 27-5.
As passed, the bill calls for a collective license fee of $13.5 million, split among the three racinos, including thoroughbred racetrack Delaware Park, on percentage according to play.
If the tracks spend a total of $2.5 million on capital improvements annually and reach performance goals, the fee could drop to as low as $5 million.
The bill provides for racinos to get 66% of gross table game revenue, with the state taking 29% and 4.5% earmarked for purses.
