Driver Dave Palone added a handful of victories to his season total when he won five dashes during the 13-race program on Wednesday afternoon at The Meadows.
Palone came into the day with 34 wins on the year, trailing only Tony Morgan (45), Aaron Merriman (42) and Matt Kakaley (40) in the early stages of the season.
The reinsman started the card off with a bang in the opener, scoring with Wenmars Memo (1:57.4). Palone also teamed up with trainer Ron Burke to post victories with Shark Watch (2:00) and Biojoba (1:56.4). His two other triumphs were aboard Legendary Charmer (2:00.1) and Tiffany (2:00.1).
The five-win performance increased his 2009 total to 39, as he now boasts a UDRS of 0.379. The Houston, PA resident has won 12,818 races in his career and has earnings in excess of $70.6 million.
