Six more Claim To Fame Series divisions went postward on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 16) at Miami Valley Raceway, two for $12,500 claiming mares and four for $8,000 horses and geldings. When the dust settled, 17 of the 53 horses that entered went home to new owners via the claim box.

The distaff winners were Melanies Sharkette (Chris Page, 1:57.1, $6.00), who prevailed over Well Wishers (Trevor Smith) and Rosie Kit (Joey Putnam); and Tammysmist (Dan Noble, 1:57.4, $15.20), who beat Cheekie (Jason Brewer) and Likeafireballshot (Jeremy Smith).

Guns An Roses (Trace Tetrick, 1:56.1, $5.20) copped the first split for the $8,000 males, topping JJs Doughnut (Noble) and CCs Desire (Brewer). Gold Star Lambeau (Tetrick, 1:56, $14.20) bested J K Hall (Josh Sutton) and Pier Ho Bigmach (Tyler Smith) in the second division, while Giovanni (Tetrick, 1:55, $7.80) got the nod over Star Guitar (Kyle Ater) and Village Jackson (Brewer) in the third. The fourth and final split went to Spunky Monkey (Page, 1:57.1, $13.80) over Superficial (Jeremy Smith) and McArtic Ocean (Tetrick).

Racing resumes Friday night at Miami Valley when the first leg of Claim To Fame action for $12,500 male pacers—postponed by weather last Friday—is co-featured in four divisions along with a $23,000 Mares Open Pace. Post time on Friday and Saturday nights is 6:05 p.m. Eastern.
