He took in harness racing on the frozen Rideau Canal in 1979. He photobombed a winner’s circle presentation during Old Home Week in 2016. And now Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made his presence felt at the Western Fair District.
Although, the event was not planned, and the Prime Minister wasn’t cozying up to a Standardbred.

As an article by CTV London explains, Trudeau ended up taking in some of the Continental Cup curling action this past Friday night (January 12) at the Western Fair District Sports Centre. Weather had stranded the PM there after a federal cabinet retreat in London had concluded.
Trudeau posed for selfies with many participants, including US curler Matt Hamilton.
“Coming to Canada so often as a do, I’m one of the few Americans who might know who Justin Trudeau is,” Hamilton told CTV London. “We took a photo and it was fun. He seems like a really nice guy.”
