Justabitcrazy continued his hot streak at the Northlands Park meet on Saturday (January 14), winning this week's top class for trainer/driver Ryan Grundy.

While Somewhereinmexico (David Kelly) led the field through panels of :27.4, :57.3 and 1:26
in the afternoon's $10,000 feature for Open/$20,000 claiming pacers, Justabitcrazy and Grundy tracked the cover of slight favourite Get Thereovernight (Kelly Hoerdt) then rallied three-wide turning for home to prevail in 1:55.1. Get Thereovernight finished just over a length behind in second while Chalk Player (Brandon Campbell) was third.

Justabitcrazy has climbed the class ladder since joining Grundy's stable in the spring of 2015. The Camcracker gelding, now seven years old, has gone from facing $4,000 to $20,000 claimers, most recently winning six of his last seven starts at Northlands.

“Why he’s gotten so good I can’t say, but he’s a cash machine now. I send him out and he always comes back with some cash," said Grundy in an interview earlier this week.

The Kelly Hoerdt stable won back-to-back races on the Saturday program, beginning with Northlands Filly Pace champion Brighten Your Life winning her four-year-old debut from off-the-pace in 1:57.3.

Nathan Sobey drove three straight winners on Saturday while Brandon Campbell also won three races throughout the day.
