Killer Instinct Takes Meadows Feature

Killer Instinct dueled with Mystical Prince from the three-quarters before edging him at the wire in Thursday’s (Jan. 12) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 conditioned trot.

Killer Instinct was fourth when Hunter Myers sent him after Mystical Prince on the lead. The rivals were inseparable until the lights flashed and showed that Killer Instinct had his head in front in a career-best 1:54 over a "sloppy" surface. The pocket-sitting Gold Stones finished third.

Melanie O’Donnell trains the five-year-old Southwind Frank-Wheely Quick gelding who pushed his lifetime earnings to $219,661, and owns with Corey Hendricks.

Dave Palone and Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. each collected three wins on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday when the 13-race program kicks off at 12:45 PM.
