Canada's Biggest Upsets of 2022 - #3 & #4

4. The Hazelton drew into a 10-horse field for his first lifetime start on Sept. 27, 2022 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Driven by his trainer, Mark Etsell, the Muscle Mass colt followed cover at the half before moving three-wide at the three-quarter pole. The Hazelton braved the sloppy track as he fended off the favourite to win by a nose in 1:58.2 despite odds of 78-1. View Chart

3. Rave Review scored a lifetime best in 1:56.4 at odds of 82-1 after refusing to lose at Grand River Raceway on July 1, 2022. Trained and driven by Lorne House, Rave Review sat fourth, 8-1/2 lengths off the leaders. The daughter of Bettors Delight kicked into second gear as House wove her to the outside. Around the final turn, they continued closing the gap before passing the top three choices at the wire.  View Chart
