Four Straight For Manwithabigcigar

Manwithabigcigar notched his fourth consecutive win for owner/trainer Shawn Worthen in his Wednesday evening assignment at Flamboro Downs.

With Stuart Sowerby in the driver’s seat, the seven-year-old son of The Just Man got away fourth as Landfairjackieboy (Scott Zeron) fronted the field of $4,500 claimers through a :28.2 opening quarter. Sowerby moved his charge first-up flushing Kg Balboa (Paul MacKenzie) out of the pocket en route to the half :58.4.

Landfairjackieboy drove on as Kg Balboa battled for the top spot through a 1:27.2 third quarter, but Manwithabigcigar used a late stretch rally to keep his win streak in tack. With four across at the wire, the winner of $46,799 in career earnings prevailed by three-quarters of a length in 1:58.2.

Shawnessy (Trevor Henry) came on for second and Lord Luck (Phil Hudon) closed well for third as the pacesetter faded to fourth.

Manwithabigcigar notched his 10th win of the season and 23rd of his career.
