Captain Canada

Last weekend, I barged into the home of Paul MacDonell and his lovely wife Lynn, videocamera in-hand, as they prepared for BC, where PMac is hoping to win the National Driving Championship

(NDC) on March 21 at Fraser Downs.

Ever gracious, they barely bat an eye when I asked to film a tour of their immaculate home near Guelph, ON. It's hard to cheer against a guy like MacDonell. But, some of you will be this Saturday, as you aspire to see your own province's representative advance to represent Canada in the World Driving Championship (WDC) in Norway this May.

While I'll be backing MacDonell and Brad Forward, I urge you to simply back someone. Watch the races, follow the coverage and invest some emotion in the event. It's important. The industry's desire to realize growth in the fan base starts from within and the fanfare we display amongst ourselves. The NDC is as Canadian as maple syrup, back bacon and the Tragically Hip, and advancing to the WDC will be an incredible adventure for the victor of Saturday's showdown.

Nice job Kelly. He's a hard guy to cheer against. Let's just hope a for good and safe day for everyone.

I might add hockey to the list of Canadiana...

Great job, Kelly! Best of luck to Paul and all the drivers in this weekend's NDC.
