How does Muscle Hill rank against recent stars?

I don't think there is any doubt that Muscle Hill is the two-year-old trotter of the year. His performance in the Breeders Crown was nothing but "wow" all the way. What a colt! He brushed off the challenge of Explosive Matter before there ever really was a challenge.

But Muscle Hill isn't the first sterling freshman trotter we've seen in recent years. How about Dewey last year or Donato the year before? They were certainly better than an empty stall, and they came back strong the following year.

Let's forget next year right now. How do you think Muscle Hill stacks up against other recent juvenile trotting champions. Against Dewey? Against Donato? Against Chocolatier? Against Ken Warkentin? We're talking their two-year-old seasons only.

Tell me your opinions. Don't be bashful.

And I think we all recognize that Honorable Daughter will easily be voted the top freshman trotting filly. Any dissenters?

I dont think this horse takes a back seat to any trotter ever,he is so fluid and powerful at the same time.He is probably the most professional 2yo i have ever laid eyes on.

Second best....depending on what you consider "recent." I think CR Kay Susie was a better two year old.

I completely agree with your choice of Honorable Daughter. The question is: will "the real Honorable Daughter" show up in 2009? Seems like many fillies that are raced hard at 2 never live up to their perceived potential at 3.

Then again...I guess the same question applies to the colt :)
