Raised To Race, Retrained To Do Just About Anything

Standardbred horses give so much pleasure, and provide a way to make a living, to the people that breed, train and drive them.

What about after their racing careers are over though? What about the geldings, or the mares and studs that aren’t financially worth breeding? Can they serve a purpose? Sarah Town sure knows that they can, and she and her 11-year-old gelding, Lets Leavem, prove it everyday. One-time stars together on the Ontario RUS circuit, Sarah now rides Leavem up and over all types of terrain, takes him on overnight camping trips, snowboards behind him in winter, and maybe most importantly, uses him to teach children how to ride and introduces them to our wonderful world of Standardbreds.
