Standardbred horseman Phil Carroll, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 4 at the age of 58.
Phil was born June 6, 1962, to Al Carroll and Dreama Rose.
Phil is survived by his wife of 37 years, LeeAnn Carroll; father, Al (Jeannie) Carroll; daughter, Tiffany (Matt) Schottel; sister, Dreama Carroll; brothers, Chris Carroll and Steve Turley; grandchildren, Jonas and Saber; many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Elvis.
Phil was preceded in death by his mother, Dreama Rose; and grandparents, Phil and Deloris Scharenburg and Elwood and Goldie Rose.
Phil was the proud owner of the historical Dairy Queen in downtown Miamisburg. He was a Standardbred trainer and driver for many years, amassing 114 driving wins through his career. Phil also enjoyed golfing. He was an outstanding athlete in high school and college, standing out at a young age for his skill in football.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Sept. 10) at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second Street, Franklin, Ohio. Visitation will occur from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, and burial at Springboro Cemetery will take place after the services.
