Three-year-old Atlantic Sires Stakes colts will make their last ATSS appearance at Inverness Raceway on Monday (Sept. 9). The two ‘A’ divisions that were scheduled for Northside Downs were added to the Inverness program after rescheduling due to weather conditions.
The card will kick off with a 6 p.m. post time.
The first $9,660 division has been carded as Race 5. Four of the contenders are in a battle for points to secure their spot in the Atlantic Breeders Crown Final, which will be contested on Sunday, October 13 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park. Purple Poet (to be driven by Kenny Arsenault) sits fourth in the point standings heading into Monday night.
The second division will face the gate for Race 9 and will feature three horses that are on top of the points board: Red Dirt Boomer (Gilles Barrieau), Red Dirt Rocknroll (Kenny Arsenault) and Notorious (Marc Campbell) are all currently within four points of each other.
The two-year old colts will also be looking to earn points for the Atlantic Breeders Crown. One division of ‘A’ colts will chase the lion’s share of a $16,660 purse in Race 7. Woodmere Rollnpop (Mary Claire MacDonald), Red Dirt Fulofhart (Marc Campbell) and Mr Kelly (Adam Merner) are the top three picks. A lone $2,500 ‘B’ has been carded as Race 2 and Howmac Napoleon, Nothing To Prove and Caught In A Dream are the top picks in a compact field of five.
