Two added events will be carded during the second week of Grand Circuit racing at the Red Mile.
On Thursday October 2, the Gentlemen's Driving Club Trot for licensed amateur drivers will be written as an overnight for $3,500. Horses must be qualified and must be non-winners of $25,000 in 2014 as of September 1. An entry fee of $75 will be donated to the Stable Of Memories for preservation of The Round Barn.
On Kentucky Futurity Day (October 5), an Under Saddle race will be carded between Race 3 and Race 4. The purse for the event is $5,000 as of this time, but it may be increased. An entry fee of $100 per rider is required. The race will be limited to 10 horses drawn by lot. All horses must have a qualified line under saddle.
A reminder that a stall application must be completed and sent to Harvey Taylor. Applications are available on the Red Mile website. With a limited number of stalls, only horses staked to the Grand Circuit are allowed on the grounds. In addition, the racing office will be using Online Entry and encourage all trainers to sign up with the USTA and take advantage of its use.
For further info, please contact the racing office at the Red Mile. The Grand Circuit condition sheet should be available September 16.
