As if a pair of half-million-dollar Triple Crown races isn’t enough Saturday evening (Sept. 5), Yonkers Raceway is throwing in a freebie.
An ever-popular hat giveaway will begin at 4 p.m. at the first floor promotions booth (while supplies last, for current or newly-enrolled Empire Club members).
Post time for the 13-race card is the usual 7:10 p.m., with Yonkers Trot No. 61 going as the sixth race (approximate post 8:50 p.m.) and Messenger Stakes No. 60 as the eighth race (approx. post 9:30 p.m.). Pinkman and Dealt A Winner look to add the second jewels of their respective Triple Crowns.
A look ahead to next Saturday (Sept. 12) finds the New York Night of Champions, Part I, with four, $225,000 sire stakes finals for three-year-olds of both sexes and gaits. The two-year-old finales are set for Saturday, Sept. 26.
