The Badlands Hanover Syndicate, in conjunction with Winbak Farm of Canada, has announced that stallion Badlands Hanover will remain in Ontario for the 2014 breeding season.
"Despite the continuing uncertainty, Ontario still is a very lucrative program," stated John Celii, Badlands Hanover Syndicate Manager. "Badlands has performed very well since moving to Canada and has become a leading Ontario sire. He has bred a full book of mares his first four years and has been extremely successful in the Ontario stakes circuit; therefore, there is no reason to change venue."
Despite a brief setback in April 2013, Badlands Hanover was back breeding mares at the end of May, with his conception rate for the remainder of the season at 95 per cent.
"Badlands Hanover was treated for and made a complete recovery from an occluded ampullae. He has excellent fertility as was evidenced by his post recovery pregnancy rates," stated Dr. Moira Gunn.
