Young trotters will own the spotlight at Hippodrome 3R on Friday afternoon (Sept. 4), as the second round of the Future Stars Series for two-year-olds will be the centre of attention.
The colts will be in the limelight in the very first race, which will feature a purse of $10,000. The split will feature eight starters, which are headlined by opening-round victor Hall Win.
Set to start from Post 5, Hall Win comes into the race off of an easy 2:05.2 maiden victory in the first round of the series for trainer/driver Kevin Maguire. The Maguire Stable of Sainte-Marie owns and bred the son of Angus Hall from the 'fast-class' trotting mare Beer Maggs. She won $117,000 racing with a record of 1:57.3. Hall Win is her first foal.
Another return winner in the field is Kinnder Dangerzone from the red-hot Denitza Petrova Stable. The son of Northern Escort from Petrova’s top 100 per-cent-producing mare Joy Majestic is a full brother to the top trotter Kinnder Dangerous (1:58.1) and a half brother to Kinnderunbelivable (1:59.3) and Kinnder High Class (2:00.1).
Kinnder Dangerzone scored his maiden victory in his last start in the Quebec Regional Fair Circuit, where he wired the field in 2:05 at H3R. He is set to start from Post 3 for driver Pierre Luc Roy. Other contenders include Incredible Hall (Post 6) and the Melanie Boulianne entry of Eyes Of Justice (Post 4) and Piranha First (Post 8).
The fillies will do battle in their $10,000 second-round contest, which will be a non-wagering race that will be held between the first and second races on Friday.
Opening-round victor Mag N Lady leads the four-horse field for owner/trainer/driver Jean Francois Maguire, who co-owns the daughter of Royalty For Life with Julie Malenfant and Richard Legris. She is set to start from Post 2.
Last time out Mag N Lady was able to wire the field in 2:02 and romp by eight and one-half lengths. She has been first, second or third in her first four lifetime starts. Other contenders include X O X O (Post 4) and New Road (Post 3).
Track Notes: The Gaudreault Family, Daniel, Charles, Maxim and Manon Levesque are hosting a Quebec Regional Fair Circuit race day at their farm, Ecurie 4G, at St-Joseph-De-Lapage in Mont-Joli on Saturday. The ten-race card will begin at 1:00 pm. Sunday’s card at H3R features three divisions of the Breeders Trophy Series' second round for three-year-old pacers.
First-race post time on Friday will be at 4:00 p.m.
