Jane Belore Retires

Jane Belore has retired from her position as Standardbred Canada Field Representative at Western Fair and Hanover Raceway after 38 years of service.

Jane has been a Field Representative for both Standardbred Canada and the Canadian Trotting Association since 1982 for tracks such as London, Hanover, Grand River, Woodstock, Orangeville and Elmira, and has filled in at many tracks throughout Ontario during her tenure. Her retirement is effective October 1, 2020.

Jane has been known to go out of her way to help others and will always be remembered for her hard work, dedication, and her friendly disposition. Her career started as a groom and later added owner, trainer, powder puff driver, starting car driver, charter, just an ambassador of the sport. She has been very active in volunteering her time for many events, both within the industry as well as in her community.

She could be seen at events such as the O’Brien Awards, Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame induction gala, Dave Wall golf tournament, Harness the Hope night in London, as well as the Matthews House Hospice in Alliston. Jane and her daughter Crystal also run a “Santa on the Farm” Christmas charity in December, with all of the proceeds going to CAS and Sick Kids in London.

"She has seen a lot of change since she started with the Association and Standardbred Canada would like to acknowledge Jane for her many years of dedicated and devoted service. She will be sorely missed," said Val Boom, Field Services Manager. "Jane was always someone I could count on to fill in, even with very short notice, and I have been very lucky to have her as part of my team. On behalf of everyone at Standardbred Canada, I would like to wish her the best of luck and say thank you."

Jane will be keeping herself busy with her two grandchildren as well as helping her daughter out at the farm every chance that she gets, but she will always be a cheerleader for Ontario and Canadian harness racing.

Please join SC in wishing Jane the best in her retirement.

Congratulations Jane on your retirement. It’s very well deserved. You’ve been a great ambassador to the sport since the first time we met a million years ago at Stampede Park. Haha. All the best in your time off although I hear that you’re going to be a very busy grandma babysitting and spending time with the grandkids. Rod Hennessy

Congratulations Jane! You have always put people first. Now it's your time.

Always a pleasure working with you Jane - enjoy your retirement and your grandchildren - all the best!

Congratulations Jane! Hope you have a healthy and long retirement. You and I
go back quite a way, to Royal Blue sales days. Also working the Obrien's together
for years too as well as work related fun. Jane had unique problem solving abilities that were a great asset to SC. A great help to so many horsepeople in Ontario, you will be missed.

Take care Mrs. Belore,

XO Mrs Wilson
