Ten two-year-old pacing colts were entered this morning for the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold eliminations scheduled to be raced on Saturday, October 2 at Mohawk
Racetrack.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elim than can compete in the final, the elim will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the Gold elim for two-year-old pacing colts scheduled for October 2 at Mohawk Racetrack is cancelled. The $40,000 purse for the Gold elim will be added to the regular purse for the final, thus making the total Gold final purse for the event $170,000.
The Gold final will be held Saturday, October 9 as scheduled, and the post positions will be drawn on Saturday, October 2 when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the cancelled elim will be distributed equally between the 10 horses that entered the event.
