A memorial celebrating the life of the late Marian Young will be held Saturday, October 1 in the clubhouse at
Fraser Downs.
The event will be from noon to 3:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
Young, a longtime BC harness horse owner, passed away April 18 in Langley after a battle with cancer.
She raced horses for 50 years with husband and trainer Bill at 'The Downs,' Patterson Park and Sandown Raceway in BC, and also in Edmonton, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
Marian worked tirelessly for the sport with much of her focus on the BC Harness Racing Hall of Fame. She was also a hard working volunteer on the backstretch at Sandown and Fraser Downs.
