Garnet Robert Sweet Passes

Garnet Robert Sweet, aged 94 years, passed away peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital on September 19

.

As a youngster, Garnet farmed with horses. Married to Ruth in 1940 and migrated to British Columbia in 1954 to work for the school board in 1955 and later tired in 1975.

Garnet and his family were the first to ever walk through the Massey Tunnel when first built.

Garnet turned his love of horses into a small breeding and training operation on the west coast for many years.

Garnet leaves behind his loving wife Dorothy, his son Merv, daughter Ruth, his great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by his many, many friends in horse racing.
