The countdown has begun on supplements and entries for the $6 million Breeders Crown events, to be raced Saturday, October 9, at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre
, Pennsylvania.
Supplemental declarations for the three-year-old and open events are due and the supplemental fees must also be paid on Monday, September 27, 2010 by 12:00 noon in the racing secretary's office (570-831-2228) at Pocono.
A one-time supplemental payment makes a horse eligible to subsequent years’ Breeders Crown events under the normal schedule of payments.
There are no supplements for the two-year-old races.
The starting fee is included in the supplemental amounts, and all supplemental money, minus the starting fee, may be added to the purse of the individual events.
Horses eligible to the Breeders Crown events must enter by 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, also at Pocono.
Eliminations for all two-year-olds, if needed, will occur on Friday, October 1. The three-year-old and open eliminations, if needed, will be raced Saturday, October 2, both nights with the regular first-race post time of 6:30 p.m.
The Breeders Crown finals on Saturday, October 9 will have a special 5:00 p.m. (EDT) first-race post time.
The connections of elimination winners may pick their post position for the finals.
