Marilynn Bangert Passes

Marilynn L. Bangert (Peasley), 64, of Haslett, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011, at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing, Mich. She was born in Niles, Michigan on July 11, 1947.

Marilynn, a graduate of Niles High School dedicated her life to harness racing, caring for standardbreds and was a long time member of the USTA and MHHA. She also enjoyed baking and sports, most notably known for being a passionate Notre Dame fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Bangert; her parents, Fred and Treva Vollman; a grandson, Michael David Johnson; and a nephew, Shannon Dale Thomas,

Surviving family includes daughter, Tami Johnson of East Lansing; Son, Jeff Babcock; 3 grandchildren, sisters Barbara Farris and Melody Rockwell of Niles; brothers, Dean Vollman of Montana and Jon (Lynn) Vollman of Mesquite, Texas.

A Memorial Service for Marilynn L. Bangert will be held on at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011, visitation one hour prior to services, at New Hudson United Methodist Church 56730 Grand River Ave., New Hudson, Michigan with Rev. Gerald Hunter officiating.
