The Woodbine Entertainment Group has announced that Mohawk Racetrack’s Canadian Trotting Classic and Maple Leaf Trot card set for this Saturday (September 19) at the Campbellville, Ont. oval will not be broadcast on TSN2 as previously planned.

A release from WEG on the matter states that the broadcast was originally scheduled to air on TSN2, but that a prior commitment to U.S. College Football has preempted coverage of this weekend's event.

Woodbine has ensured fans and horseplayers that they won’t have to miss a race, as the action will be streamed live on Mohawk’s website and for HPIbet members through their accounts. The release also states that HPItv (Rogers 420, Bell 478) is another option to watch each race on the $2.6 million card.

For those on track for the Maple Leaf Trot and Canadian Trotting Classic, Saturday is Fan Appreciation Night. The first 1,000 fans to arrive will receive a $5 food and drink voucher, a free program and ‘Your First Bet on Us.’

Additionally, WEG and Standardbred Canada will be honouring the recently retired San Pail. A three-time winner of the Maple Leaf Trot, San Pail will receive a retirement ceremony in the winner’s circle Saturday evening. Memorabilia, trophies and other items from San Pail’s career will also be on display.

Doors open Saturday at 5 p.m. and first-race post time is 7:25 p.m.
