In an effort boost horse population, Horse Racing New Brunswick has announced a change in conditions to the New Brunswick Breeders Stakes for 2024.
Effective for Feb. 15, 2024 and going forward, two-year-old colts and fillies can be made eligible to the New Brunswick Breeders with a one-time late payment.
Horses must be 100 per cent New Brunswick-owned at time of late sustaining and remain 100 per cent New Brunswick-owned for the duration of the stakes.
Owners making the late sustaining payment will pay a $900 penalty in addition to the appropriate three-year-old sustaining fee.
