The Race Track Industry Program today announced its first panel session for the 2010 Symposium on Racing

and Gaming.

Scheduled for Tuesday, December 7, International Simulcasting – A ‘How-To’ Primer to Position Your Product for International Customers will bring together simulcasting experts from around the globe.

Brendan Parnell, CEO, Sky Channel Australia; Matthew Imi, CEO, Attheraces, United Kingdom; Andrew Brown, CEO, New Zealand Racing Board; John Stuart, Director, International Marketing and Operations, Phumelela South Africa; and Teo Kim Heng, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Singapore Turf Club -- the decision makers you’d work with to get your signal into the countries -- discuss how international simulcasting is like riding the rapids, it’s still navigating a river but with very unique waves, holes and eddies in each jurisdiction. Legal issues, contracts, protocol, exchange rates and breakage are dealt with differently in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and United Kingdom.

Panelists -- along with moderator David Llewellyn, President of Australian Racing -- will guide attendees through the perils and pitfalls that may be encountered on the way to creating a successful international agreement.

The Symposium on Racing and Gaming is now the permanent home to a number of the racing industry’s annual events including Harness Tracks of America’s Annual Meeting, the NTRA’s Annual Meeting and the NTRA Marketing Summit. The 2010 Jockeys’ Guild Annual Assembly will also convene at the Symposium this year. Additional meetings and events scheduled during the 2010 Symposium include: The International Tote Protocol Group - an international working group that looks at issues and solutions to problems regarding the protocol for merging international pools; the Turf Publicists of America’s presentation of the Mark Kaufman Workshop; the RCI Model Rules Committee; the ARCI Board of Directors and a roundtable discussion with ARCI and Jockeys’ Guild members.
