SC’s 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing' Fan Club took part in the Canadian Country Music Awards Fanfest event at Jackson’s Square on Saturday, September 10 in Hamilton, Ont.

Sunny skies and great music attracted over 7,000 fans to the free concerts on the rooftop of Jackson’s Square, which featured some of Canadian country music’s hottest stars, including Terri Clark, George Canyon and Gord Bamford.

The Fan Club Booth proved to be a popular attraction. The booth featured the retired standardbred 'Stoney' (Shorestone), who stole the show. Hundreds of people of all ages stopped by the Fan Club Booth to pet Stoney, have their photo taken with him and pick up information on Ontario harness racing.

Fanfest was one of several events during Country Music Week in Hamilton, Ont., which will end this evening with the nationally-televised Canadian Country Music Awards. The ceremony will take place at Copps Colisseum and will be broadcast live on CBC Television at 8:00 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT), and at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CMT.

Tonight’s awards will feature performances by Canadian artists Gord Bamford, Paul Brandt, Dean Brody, George Canyon, Terri Clark, Tara Oram, One More Girl, Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Johnny Reid, Deric Ruttan, and The Jim Cuddy Band, with special guests, The Heartbroken. There will also be performances by internationally acclaimed country stars Luke Bryan and Ronnie Dunn.

Fans are invited to welcome the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards presenters and performers as they arrive on the Awards’ official red carpet. Taking place in front of Copps Coliseum, the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards red carpet will begin at 5:15 p.m. sharp and will welcome all 2011 nominees, along with special guests Blackie Jackett Jr., Miss Canada Anna Dell and the JUNO-nominated group Stereos.
