Officials with Sudbury Downs have announced that the nomination deadline for the track's signature racing event, the $100,000 City of Greater Sudbury Pace, is midnight Wednesday, September 14
.
The late-closing, added-money event is open to non-winners of $100,000 in 2011 as of midnight Saturday, August 27, 2011.
Eliminations, if required, will be held on Saturday, September 24 and will carry a purse of $25,000 for each. The $100,000 final will take place on October 1, 2011.
The 2010 edition of the prestigious event spawned a new track record of 1:52.4. That credit went to Part Shark, who is owned by the Secret Weapon Stables, trained by Wayne Preszcator and driven to victory by Scott Coulter.
