It has been reported that the civil trial involving Woodbine’s Jim Lawson is expected to commence in Toronto courts next month.
In 2012, Jim Lawson, who is currently the CEO of the Woodbine Entertainment Group, was fired from the investment company Westerkirk Capital Inc., according to an article by the National Post.
In 2013, Lawson, who ran Westerkirk Capital for eight years, turned around and filed a multi-million-dollar wrongful dismissal lawsuit.
Sherry Brydson, the richest woman in Canada, is Westerkirk’s sole director and executive chair. Her legal team has filed a counterclaim against Lawson.
The trial is scheduled to get underway on September 11.
