Freehold Raceway, America’s oldest pari-mutuel harness track, will resume live harness racing action with a 10-race card on Thursday, August 30 when the raceway opens for its 51-day summer/fall meet.

Races for New Jersey-sired horses are well represented on the summer/fall meet schedule. Renowned events such as the Lou Babic final ($90,000), the Harold Dancer final ($60,000), the Helen Smith final ($70,000), the Lou Babic filly final ($55,000), the Marion Dancer filly final ($58,000) and the Charles I. Smith final ($80,000) are on the schedule. Also, the Green Acres series features eight ($25,000 est.) divisional finals and there will be four open divisions of the New Jersey Futurity held at Freehold during the fall.

Freehold will once again be participating in the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program and will be offering a $5,000 guaranteed Pick-4 (Races 2-5) each day of the meet. Freehold will conduct live racing three days per week, Thursday through Saturday. Special holiday racing will be offered on Labour Day.
On Opening Day, t-shirts will be given away with the purchase of a Freehold program (while supplies last).

First post for the meet will be 12:30 p.m.

(Freehold)
