Mohawk Forced To Cancel After Three; Stakes Rescheduled For Monday

Mohawk Racetrack has been forced to cancel the remainder of Saturday's card of racing due to a power

problem in the surrounding area.

Two races were completed and the third race - a division of the Nassagaweya Stakes - was three-quarters of the way complete when darkness enveloped the Mohawk oval.

The race was completed, and the O.R.C. Judges, after communicating with each of the drivers in the race, have decided to make Race 3 "Official" despite the loss of the lighting system, the photo finish equipment, the teletimer and the Trackus charting and race patrol system.

The remaining divisions of the Nassagaweya Stakes and Eternal Camnation Stakes have been rescheduled as non-wagering events for Monday evening beginning at 6 p.m.
