The Sunday, Aug. 2 evening card of harness racing at The Red Mile has been cancelled due to inclement weather around the Lexington, Kentucky area that has created unsafe track conditions.
Sunday’s card included 10 stakes events headlined by the $80,000 USD opening preliminary of the Kentucky Championship Series for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings. All the Kentucky-bred races slated for Sunday – also including divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth, Kentucky Golden Rod and Kentucky Wildcat Series – will be held on a non-wagering card of racing on Monday, Aug. 3 starting at 9:30 a.m.
The Red Mile will then resume with its scheduled 15-race card for Monday at 1 p.m., which is headlined by the $80,000 USD opening round of the Kentucky Championship Series for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings.
