Rivalry Brewing In Quebec?

Rivalries are what can make harness racing great, and an early rivalry could be in the making as Tuscans Memory will take on Panamas Boy once again on Wednesday (August 19) at Hippodrome 3R.

The second round of the $200,000 Quebec-Bred Series for two-year-old trotters is set to take place Wednesday at the Hippodrome 3R, and Tuscans Memory and Panamas Boy are all set to lock horns in the second division, which has been carded as Race 4. Tuscans Memory has drawn Post 5 and Panamas Boy will start from Post 4

In their first meeting last week, which came during the opening round of the series, Tuscans Memory was given a perfect drive by Pascal Berube. The duo followed cover behind Panamas Boy (driven by Stephane Brosseau) and collaring him at the wire for a half-length triumph.

Looking elsewhere on Hippodrome 3R’s Wednesday card, the other division of the Quebec-Bred Series will kick off the program in Race 1. The dash is highlighted by two newcomers to Trois-Rivieres, Sass and Defi Normand.

Sass, who will start from Post 8 with driver Clark Steacy, is still a maiden after five starts, though he has only missed the board once. He has been racing in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots level and has been race-timed in 1:59 over Mohawk Racetrack.

Defi Normand heads into his Wednesday test off a third-place finish in OSS action at Georgian Downs, where he was clocked in 2:01.

First-race post time for Hippodrome 3R’s Wednesday card is 7 p.m.
