The three-year-old trotting filly Elegant Holiday has raced three times at Kawartha Downs this season and has won every time. She’ll be looking to record her fourth Kawartha victory of the year on Saturday night.
Elegant Holiday has drawn Post 4 for the evening’s second race.
Bred by Tara Hills Stud of nearby Port Perry, Ont., the daughter of Holiday Road is owned by Tara Hills’ owner, Dave Heffering, farm manager, Matt Harrison, and well known trainer Murray Brethour. The latter was Elegant Holiday’s trainer at the beginning of her career, but they elected to turn her over to Dagfin Henriksen, known for his skill with trotters, in May.
Henriksen has started her at his home track of Kawartha Downs three times since then and she has returned to the winner’s circle each time, including on July 25, when she provided Henriksen with his 100th victory as a driver.
Winning is a theme in Elegant Holiday’s family, as her older brother, Theresademoninme, has won two of his three last starts, including at Mohawk last week in a life’s best 1:54.3.
First-race post time for Kawartha’s Saturday card of racing is 7 p.m.
