The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society (OSAS) continues its 25th anniversary celebrations at Ontario racetracks tomorrow night (August 18) at Grand River Raceway.
OSAS has a special connection with the Elora, Ont. racetrack as its founder and CEO for many years, Dr. Ted Clarke, was a wonderful supporter of the program and his farm has fostered several OSAS horses.
A member of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Dr. Clarke passed away in 2019 but his family have continued with his tradition of fostering OSAS horses.
Currently, the Clarkes have a pair of classy trotters at their property for OSAS. Y Chance It earned over a million dollars during his racing career while his companion of many years, Railroad Ron, took in more than a quarter of a million at the track.
Grand River’s card gets underway at 6:30 p.m., with the OSAS Anniversary race slated as the fourth.
